Maurice-Boris Paradox

For a long time - literally years - I have been fascinated by the Maurice-Boris Paradox. It goes like this:
  1. Many Americans may be surprised to learn that the name Maurice, when pronounced correctly, rhymes with Boris.
  2. Likewise, the name Boris, inflected according to its native tongue, is supposed to rhyme with Maurice.
  3. However, Maurice and Boris do not, by any means, rhyme with each other.
Now you know that much more about what a weird guy I am. Frankly, I'm surprised the above paradox doesn't turn time-space into a round of goat cheese!
