The Frankenstein Parable

To what shall I compare the kingdom of God? It is--if you will pardon a frankly gruesome illustration--like unto Frankenstein's monster.

What the mad scientist had on his table, after sewing together bits of dead people, was a collection of dead meat. Only when a surge of electricity was added did it come to life.

But that was not all. The electricity was more than just the spark that brought Frankenstein's monster alive. Rather, that electricity stayed in the monster, circulating around and maintaining the life it had started. It was, in fact, the monster's life, while it lived.

Let him who has ears to hear, hear what the Spirit breathes unto His Church....
