Double Tackiness

My Dad sent me this one from a Methodist church near his place:

AUTUMN LEAVES...JESUS DOESN'T

On the other hand, the following message from the ELCA church down the street from me is just plain perplexing:

WHERE THERE IS HUNGER, GOD APPEARS AS BREAD

In the interest of balance, maybe they should add: "Where there is obesity, Satan appears as prime rib." Or how about this one: "Where there is theological tackiness, Martin Luther appears as Harpo Marx." Give me a break! Does anybody bother to subject these slogans to half a minute's worth of thought?
